Royal Challengers Bangalore is on a losing streak. They lost their sixth consecutive match of this IPL season against Delhi Capitals in Bangalore.
Winning the toss Delhi Capitals sent Royal Challengers to bat first. Although Bangalore lost Parthiv Patel in the second over of their innings Virat Kohli was there to take control of the innings. Kohli scored 41 runs off 33 balls but wasn’t supported by any other top order bat. Only Moeen Ali scored a quick inning of 32 off 18. This finally helped Bangalore to put a score of 149 for the loss of eight wickets. The problem with Kohli’s innings was that he couldn’t hit big shots before getting dismissed in 17th over. Kagiso Rabada from Delhi camp bagged the wicket of ABDV at the start and later when Virat started the hitting, Rabada scalped his wicket as well. He took a total of four wickets and ensured that RCB couldn’t go for a huge score.
After the initial blow in the first over, Delhi got the captain to lead from the front. Shreyas Iyer scored his first fifty of IPL 2019. His innings of 67 in 50 balls consisted of and hit eight fours and two sixes. By the time he got out in the 18th over, the ball was totally in Delhi’s court. He was well supported by Prithvi Shaw (28 off 22), Colin Ingram (22 of 21) and Rishabh Pant (18 off 14). Navdeep Saini was the most successful bowler from the opponent and took the wickets of Chris Morris (0) and Shreyas. Tim Southee, although started off well by taking the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan at the beginning, ended with being the most expensive bowler of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Moeen Ali, after delivering with the bat was there to serve with the ball too and finished with 4-0-22-1.
